New beginnings, new hair

I have no idea what compelled me to chop all of my hair off.  While in Denver though, I went into a salon with Nancy because she needed hairspray.  There was a sign on the counter that said "walk-ins $25" and for some reason that made me think that I needed a change and so I asked the receptionist if someone could give me a pixie cut.  Someone could, and did.  It is short and sassy and stylish and for me it kinda feels rebellious in a way.  Against what I do not know nor care.

Diana, part deux

Diana wanted the Rat and I to come visit her closet.  We did, and as we took every single article off of the bar and flung them around the room I was wondering what the hell we had started.  But then I got that giddy, euphoric feeling that happens when I am in the midst of a fashion/wardrobe transformation and giggled to myself as we began to filter through her clothes.  Diana has a great wardrobe.  I don't think she realized how great it actually was until we left, but she has some vibrant fun pieces that are good building blocks to a fashionista's dream wardrobe.  We showed her ways to mix things up and what would work with what (and YES, she did think we were crazy a few times).  So imagine my ABSOLUTE DELIGHT when she walked into my cube just now and had put together her own take on an outfit!  Our baby was walking!!!  Here she is!  Look at that sassiness!

The Pearlie Girlies

Years ago now, when my girlfriend Emily was getting married, I co-hosted a bridal shower for her and had custom invites made up with her on the front (cartoon-ized) in her PINK wedding dress.  I forgot all about having those done, but ran across the artist on Facebook today!  http://www.pearliegirlie.com/
This Pearlie Girlie is my favorite....
High Maintenance Girlie, go figure.

Darling D

Diana looked so shocked when I came over to snap her picture.  Perhaps it was because I didn't say anything?  Anyways, I noticed at lunch how snazzy she looked with the grey/black/blue color scheme.  I have always had a thing for blue velvet and I blame my mother for that.  She had a stunning Laura Ashley blue velvet dress when I was about 7 or 8, and god I wish I could have worn that just once!  So maybe that's why I am in love with the blue velvet blazer that Diana is rocking today.  Or maybe it's the ruching around the neckline of her grey tee? Whatever, she's cute.

In Style

I love InStyle Magazine.  I actually love almost all magazines, but InStyle is one of my favorites.  I challenge myself to find an outfit I love in their pages, and re-create it using only things I already own.  This outfit was one of them.

Miss Olivia

When Lucas was little he had a nanny named Molly.  Molly now has her own child, the ADORABLE Miss Olivia, whose pictures make me smile every single time I see a new one.

Bree and Lux Studio

Haircut day!  I don't go near as often as I should to get my hair done as I can be lazy about it.  But Bree @ Lux Studio does such an awesome job and I LOVE to see her for an hour or so.  Plus, she gives a really, really relaxing hair rub when she's shampooing you. Andra caught me coming back into the office, and I took one in the ladies room so you could see the a-line.  LOVE IT!!!
