Fall blahs

I was starting to feel the Fall and Winter blahs, and so what does that make me want to do?  Color my hair!  I went to Kelli at Crimson Salon in Eugene, and asked for strawberry blonde.  Here it is!

Connect Conference

Hey y'all!
I went to a conference in Loo-ey-vull, Kentucky in August.  And it was HOT.  Hot-hot, like walk out the front door of the hotel and be dripping wet in five seconds hot.  I hate being hot... so I had to figure out a way to look cute and not sweaty and stay warm enough while in the frigid convention center as well.  The conference photographer caught me!  Although I don't think this is an especially good photo, I still appreciate the outfit.  The contrast of the blues?  Perfection!  The adorbs white sandals that aren't in the pic?  Take me back to summer!

So here's the page I found in the Connect Magazine (one for Meeting Planners like me!)

Exciting news!

Rachel, my sister-in-fashion, and I have a side business that we have been working on pulling together for AGES now, and it feels like things are starting to pick up!  We have a fabulous new blog that I would love you to read and FOLLOW!  http://wardroberevamp.wordpress.com/

My shoes.

I love shoes, anyone who has been around me for more than 5 minutes can tell you that.  What I have never done is catalogue my shoe collection.  So I am starting.  These are current favorites, Miu's from DSW.

They make me feel like a totally hot bitch.

Ok. Fine.

The Professor has guilted me into blogging again.  Almost every day he asks if I have posted anything lately.  Want to take a bet on how long it takes before he sees that I did? So I said I would post the picture that I had taken in New York City by noted fashion photographer NIGEL BARKER.  Yes, otherwise know as my "other" boyfriend.  There are many in this category... perhaps a later post?
I love this because I think it looks like me.  Happy me.  Nigel gave me this little pep talk on confidence right before he started shooting, and I died.  I couldn't stop grinning, so maybe the confidence thing worked or maybe I was just being photographed by noted fashion photographer NIGEL BARKER.  I heart him.  (And his book on confidence?  awesome.)

New beginnings, new hair

I have no idea what compelled me to chop all of my hair off.  While in Denver though, I went into a salon with Nancy because she needed hairspray.  There was a sign on the counter that said "walk-ins $25" and for some reason that made me think that I needed a change and so I asked the receptionist if someone could give me a pixie cut.  Someone could, and did.  It is short and sassy and stylish and for me it kinda feels rebellious in a way.  Against what I do not know nor care.

Diana, part deux

Diana wanted the Rat and I to come visit her closet.  We did, and as we took every single article off of the bar and flung them around the room I was wondering what the hell we had started.  But then I got that giddy, euphoric feeling that happens when I am in the midst of a fashion/wardrobe transformation and giggled to myself as we began to filter through her clothes.  Diana has a great wardrobe.  I don't think she realized how great it actually was until we left, but she has some vibrant fun pieces that are good building blocks to a fashionista's dream wardrobe.  We showed her ways to mix things up and what would work with what (and YES, she did think we were crazy a few times).  So imagine my ABSOLUTE DELIGHT when she walked into my cube just now and had put together her own take on an outfit!  Our baby was walking!!!  Here she is!  Look at that sassiness!

The Pearlie Girlies

Years ago now, when my girlfriend Emily was getting married, I co-hosted a bridal shower for her and had custom invites made up with her on the front (cartoon-ized) in her PINK wedding dress.  I forgot all about having those done, but ran across the artist on Facebook today!  http://www.pearliegirlie.com/
This Pearlie Girlie is my favorite....
High Maintenance Girlie, go figure.

Darling D

Diana looked so shocked when I came over to snap her picture.  Perhaps it was because I didn't say anything?  Anyways, I noticed at lunch how snazzy she looked with the grey/black/blue color scheme.  I have always had a thing for blue velvet and I blame my mother for that.  She had a stunning Laura Ashley blue velvet dress when I was about 7 or 8, and god I wish I could have worn that just once!  So maybe that's why I am in love with the blue velvet blazer that Diana is rocking today.  Or maybe it's the ruching around the neckline of her grey tee? Whatever, she's cute.

In Style

I love InStyle Magazine.  I actually love almost all magazines, but InStyle is one of my favorites.  I challenge myself to find an outfit I love in their pages, and re-create it using only things I already own.  This outfit was one of them.

Miss Olivia

When Lucas was little he had a nanny named Molly.  Molly now has her own child, the ADORABLE Miss Olivia, whose pictures make me smile every single time I see a new one.

Bree and Lux Studio

Haircut day!  I don't go near as often as I should to get my hair done as I can be lazy about it.  But Bree @ Lux Studio does such an awesome job and I LOVE to see her for an hour or so.  Plus, she gives a really, really relaxing hair rub when she's shampooing you. Andra caught me coming back into the office, and I took one in the ladies room so you could see the a-line.  LOVE IT!!!

Nannie

As I was leaving work yesterday, I had to snap a quick pic of Nannie's shoes.  I want to steal them and she wears the same size so I could.  They are Jeffrey Campbell, my absolute favorite shoe designer and are this deep plummy color and the perfect height.

And Nan?  Don't EVER fall asleep at your desk with those on...

After a rough day...

Sometimes you just need a pick me up.  A cup of tea, a cookie, those Ralph Lauren cherry red peep-toe heels. Enjoy! And did I mention they were 50% off?  Oh yes, please!

The Rat

I love her, I love her, I do.  I love her sense of humor and her forthrightness and her encouragement and her funny British sayings.  And I adore her sense of style.  She can be a bad ass rocker chick one day in boots that will stomp all over you and then the next be Miss Recherche.  No doubt the Rat will make often appearances on this page.

Andra's Cuteness

The two-tone brown is just GORGEOUS and gives these boots just a slightly old-fashioned feel.  Lovely Miss A!

And the delicate and oh-so-pretty gold earrings?  To die for!

This was the cuteness.  Add a cropped khaki jacket and voila!

The Beginning

I felt cute this morning. No, not just cute, SO EFFING CUTE. Clothes were perfect, hair was good, makeup goddess-like. Talking to the professor, he said I should start a blog.  And here it is.

There will be clothes, accessories, lots and lots of shoes, babies, scarves and anything else that catches my eye. Like Andra this morning with her hot boots and sexy earrings. Pic to come soon.
